FASTnet Expanding Footprint and Reliability

FASTnet took a major step today in expanding its footprint and reliability.

FASTnet employees, 4-County employees and contractors, strung a lengthy span of high-speed fiber across the highway, from pole to pole, at the intersection of U.S. 82 and Hwy. 45 Alt. The completed job will enable FASTnet to expand its footprint faster and in a more reliable manner. And the process was, well, pretty fast. It took about six minutes. “Everything was smooth and fast,” said FASTnet Manager of Outside Fiber Planning and Networking Howie Critcher. “We had a plan and it worked to perfection. This process will help us expand our footprint of operations and provide increased reliability.”

The Mississippi Highway Patrol blocked traffic for the brief, but extremely detailed, project.
